Returning the Serve:  Use the Center Strap as a Guide

When returning serve, aim your return over the center net strap or up to a foot to the side of the net strap.  If the net player is an active poacher, this will jam him and not let him make an effective shot.

As you hit these balls, pretend that the court into which you are hitting is short and that your ball must land near the service line or at least well inside the baseline.  This will force you to keep the ball low, making your returns even more difficult for your opponents to handle.
